ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has constituted a nine-member Constitutional Bench within the High Court of Sindh for a period of two months.
The Bench will be headed by Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha and will be comprising Justice Salim Jessar, Justice Omar Sial, Justice Yousaf Ali Syeed, Justice Abdul Mobeen Lakho, Justice Zulfiqar Ali Sangi, Justice Ms. Sana Akram Minhas, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Arbab Ali Hakro.
Following extensive and thoughtful exchange of views, the Commission considered the formation of the Constitutional Bench in Sindh High Court and approved the names of the judges with a majority of 11 to 4.
Meeting of the Judicial Commission was held Monday under the 26th Constitutional Amendment in the Supreme Court premises on a one point agenda of formation of the Constitutional Bench in Sindh High Court.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chairman of the Judicial Commission Justice Yahya Afridi and attended by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar (via video link), Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, Chief Justice, Sindh High Court, Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, Senior Puisne Judge, SHC, Mr. Azam Nazeer Tararr, Federal Minister of Law and Justice, Mr. Mansoor Usman Awan, Attorney General for Pakistan, Senator Farooq Hamid Naek, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Member National Assembly of Pakistan, Ms Roshan Khurshid Barucha, Mr. Zia ul Hasan Lanjar, Minister of law, Sindh, Mr. Akhtar Hussain, Senior Advocate Supreme Court and Qurban Ali Malano, Member Sindh Bar Council.
