ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP):Mashal Malik, wife of detained Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik, has urged for her husband’s medical treatment, citing his deteriorating health.
Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club on Tuesday, she emphasized that Yasin Malik should be immediately shifted to a reputable hospital for quality treatment.
She highlighted that her husband’s medical treatment was inappropriately and inhumanely conducted in Tihar Jail in India, urging human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and the United Nations, to take notice of this.
“India is committed to hang him till his death without providing the chance of a fair trial,” she noted, adding her husband is not only a party chief but also the symbol of peace who raised his voice for the independence of the Kashmiri people.
She also called the writ petition filed by Barrister Tariq Mahmood in the Sub-Working Group of the United Nations a positive step to save Malik’s life.
A joint session of the Parliament should be convened in Pakistan for Yasin Malik’s right to a fair trial, she asserted.
