ITP Uraan gives wings to 100 women riders in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Mar 08 (APP): The graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) Uraan Scooty and Motor Riding School was held at the Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, where 100 women successfully completed their training.
An ITP official told APP on Sunday that Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Captain (R) Hamza Humayun attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while other police officers were also present on the occasion.
He said in the first batch of the ITP Uraan Scooty and Motor Riding School, 100 women completed their training in driving cars and riding scooties.
During the training course, the participants were taught practical skills for driving vehicles and riding scooties. They were also trained in basic vehicle maintenance and tyre changing.
During the ceremony, CTO Hamzah distributed driving licences and certificates among the women who successfully completed the training.
Addressing the ceremony, Hamzah said the ITP Uraan School was a revolutionary step toward empowering women under the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
He said the school not only provides driving training to women but also promotes confidence and independence among them.
The CTO added that the initiative was an important milestone for ensuring safe and independent mobility for women, enabling them to travel freely and safely.
He also announced that registration for the second batch of the ITP Uraan Scooty and Motor Riding School has been opened.
He said the school provides international-standard training arrangements, where professional training is being imparted by female instructors.
He added that the facility is especially beneficial for students and working women of the twin cities, helping enhance their professional skills and self-confidence.
