ITP issues traffic advisory for Monday morning rush

ISLAMABAD, Jan 04 (APP): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic advisory for Monday in view of expected congestion on the Expressway during peak office hours, advising commuters to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that traffic pressure is expected on various sections of the Expressway during morning and evening rush hours, and special traffic arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth flow.

Khanna to Faizabad (Expressway):
From 7:00 am to 10:00 am, heavy traffic pressure is expected on the Expressway from Khanna towards Faizabad. During this time, diversions will be placed on loops coming from Rawalpindi Murree Road and IJP Road towards the Expressway.

Alternative routes:
Commuters are advised to use Margalla Underpass and Club Road as alternate routes.

Zero Point to Khanna (Expressway):
From 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, traffic pressure is expected on the Expressway from Zero Point towards Khanna, and traffic flow may slow down during these hours.

The official said that special traffic squads will remain deployed on the Expressway to manage traffic and facilitate commuters.

He advised citizens to plan their travel with extra time and cooperate with traffic police to ensure smooth traffic movement.

Islamabad Traffic Police remains committed to maintaining traffic flow across the federal capital.
