ISLAMABAD, Aug 12 (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui Friday appreciated the role and unprecedented contributions of Sufis, poets and writers in the creation of Pakistan.
In a ceremony held in connection with the Independence day at Pakistan Academy of Letters here, he said that poets and writers had played important role in highlighting two nation theory among muslims was was base of creation of Pakistan.
“The two nation theory was a founding principle of the Pakistan Movement and the partition of India in 1947,” he added.
He highlighted the significance of 14th August and give the
message “We have to work with unity and develop confidence for bringing a positive change in the Nation.”
He said that poets, media, politician and nation could play important role to for development of Pakistan.
The lecture on “Role of Poets in the making of Pakistan” was
conducted by Professor Jalil Aali.
In his lecture, he told about struggle and role of Muslim poets
in the creation of Pakistan.
After freedom fight of 1857, the conditions of the Muslim became worst throughout India.
The Muslims were the victim of bilateral enmity and revenge of British and Hindus.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan emerged as the reliever from the muslim in that era.
Allama Iqbal served the muslims through his innumerable qualities of leadership.
He will be remembered by the nation forever for his glorious services relating to creation of Pakistan and developing harmony and tolerance in the society by eliminating sectarianism according to teachings of Islam.
He also discussed role of Hali, Shibli habib jalib, Majdad Ali Sani and Sha wali ullah in in detail.
After the lecture ‘Azadi Mushaira’ was arranged in which famous poets like Abda Taki, Dr Tauseef Tabassum, Ali Akber Abbas, Akram Zaki, Naureen Tallat Aruba, Anjum Khaleek, Naseem Saher and Mir Tanha Yousafi had particated.
