ISLAMABAD, Apr 01 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices to respondents including the Ministry of National Food Security and the Ministry of Interior in a petition against formation of Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) and recruitment in it.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a one-page written order for a hearing on the petition of citizen Muhammad Fayyaz, in which the court said that, according to the petitioner, there was a violation of Section 3 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Food Safety Act 2021.

According to the petitioner, the establishment of the IFA was implemented without a gazette notification and the approval of the federal cabinet. The parties committed a serious violation of the law by establishing the IFA without legal authority.

The petition requested the court to declare the establishment of the Islamabad Food Authority and all important appointments illegal and annul them.

The court said that the submissions made by the petitioner’s lawyer were worthy of consideration. The establishment of the Islamabad Food Authority, the formation of the board, and the appointments of all officers including the chairman have been challenged.
