ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed to schedule the case for February 20, against the appointment of the same officer to the two posts of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner.
The court had rejected the request to suspend the notification of appointment of an officer to two posts today.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the miscellaneous request to fix the case for early hearing.
Lawyer petitioner Riaz Hanif Rahi appeared in the court in his personal capacity and took the position that there is a law of 1960, since then the office of Chairman CDA has been working independently, there is a separate law for it. He said that since 2021 only one officer has been holding two posts. The writs and petitions have been moved in the court continuously on which no judicial decision has been made yet.
Lawyer Riaz Hanif Rahi requested that the matter is of an important nature and the case should be fixed for immediate hearing.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro remarked that first we fix the main case and then we will decide after hearing. The court directed to fix the main case for February 20.
