IHC grants protective bail to accused

ISLAMABAD, Apr 01 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted a seven-day protective bail to the accused named in a case of Gujrat, and barred his arrest on his arrival from abroad at Lahore Airport.
Chief Justice IHC Sardar Muhammad Sarfaraz Dogar asked the petitioner to approach the relevant court during the said time. The petitioner’s lawyer took the position that a case has been registered against the accused in Jalalpur Jattan, Gujarat. The petitioner wants to land at Allama Iqbal Airport, so the protective bail should be granted.
The Chief Justice said that Allama Iqbal Airport is Lahore, you should approach the Lahore High Court, it is not our jurisdiction. The prosecutor said that the petitioner’s ticket was confirmed late and it is tonight’s flight. Time is short, so approaching the Lahore High Court will take time.
The court granted the petitioner’s seven-day protective bail and ordered the accused Ali Hassan to appear in the relevant court within seven days.
