IHC declares appointment of NECA director as void

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday declared the appointment of National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NECA) Director SMO Sabih Haider as illegal.

Justice Babar Sattar, while delivering a 25-page reserved judgment, directed to send the copy of judgment to NECA Board Chairman Owais Leghari and identify those responsible for the illegal gazette notification.

According to the judgment, the post of Director SMO was not available in NECA’s service rules and reducing the age limit from 45 years to 40 years was also against the law. The court declared the gazette notification of March 2024 illegal.
