ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an operational commanders conference at the Central Police Office attended by DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSPs, zonal SPs, and other senior officers.
An official told APP on Sunday that the IGP conducted a comprehensive review of police performance, security arrangements, use of technology, and ongoing public-service projects.

He directed officers to prioritize citizen service, ensure effective law enforcement, and enhance operational mechanisms in line with modern policing needs.

The IGP instructed all field commanders to intensify action against criminal elements, expand the scope of the ongoing “Nasha Ab Nahi” anti-drug initiative, and provide maximum facilitation to the public.

He said the police must launch a full crackdown against illegal weapons, aerial firing, display of firearms, and vehicles with tinted glasses across the federal capital.
To maintain an organized traffic flow, he ordered the removal of illegal encroachments citywide and the launching of special awareness campaigns to guide citizens on road safety and security protocols.
IGP Rizvi also emphasized the need to strengthen training standards to improve the professional capacity of police officers and to ensure readiness for any law-and-order situation.
He reiterated that Islamabad Police remains fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and ensuring the highest level of security in the federal capital.
The IGP instructed senior officers to maintain strict accountability, ensure better coordination with subordinate teams, focus on personnel welfare, and conduct daily briefings to keep all units aligned with operational priorities.
