IDWP approves establishment of Special Protection Unit

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (APP):The Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) on Friday granted approval to hire consultants for the feasibility study, detailed design, and land acquisition for the establishment of a Special Protection Unit.
The meeting that met here with Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa in the chair, also gave approval to engage consultants for the feasibility study and detailed engineering design for the construction of government officers’ residences.
Furthermore, the meeting approved the PC-II for the establishment of a Counter-Terrorism Department and the creation of canine centers in Islamabad.
Additionally, the IDWP approved a project for constructing buildings for eight police stations in Islamabad. Approval was also granted for improving road infrastructure in Islamabad’s rural areas.
Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that third-party validation be conducted for all ongoing and future projects.
He further instructed that no payments should be made without third-party validation.
Moreover, he emphasized the necessity of engaging consultants for all projects presented in the IDWP meetings.
For the first time, Member Engineering and Member Planning from CDA participated in the meeting.
The participation of CDA’s Member Planning and Member Engineering in the IDWP aims to align all projects with the Islamabad Master Plan.
