ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted grand combing and search operations in various areas of the federal capital against criminal elements and illegal residents, checking 784 individuals and 346 households during the drive.
An official told APP on Monday that the operations were carried out under the supervision of zonal SPs in the areas of Koral, Sumbal, Aabpara, Secretariat, Golra, Sabzi Mandi, Lohi Bher and Bani Gala police stations.
He said lady police officials also participated in the operations.
During the search operations, police teams checked 52 shops and three hotels as part of efforts to ensure law and order.
The official said 280 motorcycles and 115 vehicles were also inspected during the drive.
He said 43 suspected individuals, 37 motorcycles and two vehicles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification.
The official said the grand search operations were conducted on the special directives of the IGP Islamabad to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of citizens.
He urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
He added that Islamabad Police were utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain peace and order in the federal capital.
