ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP):The lower court of Islamabad on Friday adjourned the hearing of a case against former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas for allegedly using a diplomatic passport.
Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal took up the case but postponed the proceedings after Ilyas failed to appear before the court. During the hearing, the defence submitted an application seeking exemption from the former prime minister’s personal attendance, which the court accepted.
Due to Ilyas’s absence, the prosecution could not record the witnesses’ statements. The court then directed the prosecution witnesses to ensure their presence at the next hearing.
The magistrate adjourned further proceedings in the case till November 10, summoning the witnesses again for testimony.
The case pertains to the alleged unauthorized use of a diplomatic passport by the former AJK prime minister following the end of his tenure.
