PESHAWAR, Nov 04 (APP):A long-shuttered Government Girls High School in Dallo Khel, Lakki Marwat, has reopened after eight years, bringing renewed hope and opportunity to 281 young girls who had been deprived of education.
The school’s restoration was made possible through the direct intervention of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah and Commissioner Bannu Khalid Mehmood, whose prompt action resolved a longstanding dispute that had kept the school closed for nearly a decade.
Deputy Commissioner Hameedullah Khan, known for his effective administrative record, personally oversaw the reopening, while DPO Nazir Khan, PSP ensured full security and public cooperation during the rehabilitation process.
A fund of Rs. 600,000 was released for renovation, leading to the school’s complete refurbishment within a week.
Classrooms have been repaired and repainted, furniture restored, and the compound cleaned and secured.
The reopening marks a significant step forward for girls’ education in the district, where educational facilities remain scarce.
Local residents expressed gratitude to the provincial administration for what they termed “a revival of our daughters’ dreams.”
Officials said the initiative reflects the provincial government’s firm commitment to ensuring education for all and empowering girls through access to quality learning opportunities.
