ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (APP):The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday issued a weather advisory, warning of likely rainfall in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from March 9 to 12.
The alert, released through the NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Center, outlines a four-day weather outlook beginning March 9, indicating possible precipitation across the northern belt of the country.
Windstorm accompanied by light rain is expected over the Potohar Plateau, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mianwali, during the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to the forecast, hailstorm activity is also likely in Islamabad and the upper parts of the Potohar region.
Windstorm accompanied by light rain is expected in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 9 to 11.
According to the forecast, light showers are likely in Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Peshawar, Swabi and adjoining areas during the period.
Light rain at a few places along with partly cloudy weather is expected in various areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from March 9 to 11.
Similarly, rainfall is likely in Astore, Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Hattian Bala, Bagh, Haveli, and Poonch districts during the period.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has assured that all relevant institutions and the public are being provided with advance information regarding the weather situation and potential risks.
