ISLAMABD, June 19 (APP): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Saturday underscored the need for formulating a common strategy to counter the menace of Islamophobia, especially at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations with support of other countries.
The foreign minister held a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF).
While emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to inter-faith harmony, foreign minister Qureshi briefed his Malaysian counterpart on Pakistan’s efforts to confront Islamophobia in the world.

The two foreign ministers exchanged views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest including bilateral ties covering political, trade and economic matters, as well as cooperation at the United Nations, OIC, ASEAN and other multilateral fora.
Foreign minister Qureshi emphasized the importance of close cooperation to overcome challenges brought by Covid-19. Both ministers discussed best practices in this regard.
They agreed on keeping the positive momentum in the political relations, deepening mutually beneficial trade and economic ties, expanding cultural relations, promoting tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
They also agreed to remain engaged on issues of common interest, both bilateral and multilateral.
