ISLAMABAD, Jul 14 (APP):A local court on Monday granted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) a three-day physical remand of Chairman Pakistan Agriculture and Research Council (PARC) Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali and Director Establishment Division Akhlaq Malik in a case pertaining to the illegal recruitment of 332 people in department.
The court of Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shahzad Gondal has handed over the officials to the FIA custody.
During the hearing, FIA officials presented PARC Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali and Director Establishment Akhlaq Malik to the court and requested a 14-day physical remand of the accused.
The prosecutor said that the PARC Chairman has been arrested on charges of illegal recruitment and misuse of authority. The FIA has also arrested the Director Establishment Akhlaq Malik involved in this matter. The PARC Chairman recruited 332 people illegally on 164 approved posts. The FIA is still investigating the matter further.
The FIA has registered a case against 19 officers including PARC Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali. There are also allegations of alleged bribery for illegal recruitments. On this occasion, the Chairman PARC said that all the vacancies were advertised, committees were formed for the selection of all the recruitments. Judge Ahmed Shehzad Gondal said that an investigation is yet to be conducted on this matter and things will come to light. After hearing the arguments, the court handed over both the accused to the FIA on a 3-day physical remand.
