The workshop engaged around 80 participants in two online sessions, featuring a comprehensive dialogue on digital safety and fundamental rights. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between complex legal concepts and civic awareness among youth.
During the sessions, Muhammad Anwar highlighted the growing need for proper guidance as young people increasingly navigate digital spaces. He said the “Rights & Voices” platform is designed for high accessibility, offering support in English, Urdu and Sindhi.

“To ensure inclusivity for all citizens, including those with limited formal education, the application incorporates voice-enabled features that allow users to listen to information about their rights and responsibilities in the online environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Shahbaz Tariq demonstrated the platform’s practical utility, explaining how it uses simplified “cards” to present rights through easy-to-understand examples and actionable steps.
A key focus was placed on the app’s “Speak-Up” feature, which provides users with direct access to verified support services and referrals.
Participants were also briefed on essential safety protocols, including prioritizing personal safety and using private channels for sensitive matters instead of public social media platforms.
The training concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which educators discussed ways to integrate the app’s resources into classroom activities.
It is pertinent to mention that the “Rights & Voices” tool, available as both a web portal and a mobile application, is being shared through local networks to empower women, students and marginalized communities with the knowledge needed to protect their digital rights.
