ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):Pakistan’s first Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Justice Aminuddin Khan has said that the Constitution will be interpreted with complete transparency, freedom and integrity.
He said that the protection of fundamental rights will remain the court’s foremost priority.
In his inaugural address, Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan described the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court as a historic milestone in the country’s constitutional landscape, reaffirming the national commitment to the rule of law and the enduring promise of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He termed this responsibility both delicate and significant, noting that the court’s role is not merely judicial but a sacred trust that directly affects the lives, liberties and future of citizens.
He said the court would be developed into a forum that embodies honesty, impartiality and intellectual clarity. Every matter brought before the court, he stressed, will be handled with extraordinary care and fairness, in accordance with constitutional supremacy, principles of justice and judicial dignity.
The Chief Justice stated that the court aspires to build a judicial tradition rooted in well-reasoned judgments, institutional integrity and public confidence. Calling it an honour to serve as the first Chief Justice, he said he is privileged to play a role in laying the institutional foundations of this new court.
Justice Aminuddin Khan expressed hope that the Federal Constitutional Court will prove to be a strong guardian of constitutional supremacy in Pakistan and will emerge as a shining symbol of justice for generations to come.
