ISLAMABAD, Mar 29 (APP):The envoys-designate of eight different countries Friday presented their credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi in a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here.
The envoys included Ambassador of Japan Kuninori Matsuda, Ambassador of Apostolic Nunciature Archbishop Christophe-Zakhia El-Kassis, Ambassador of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin, Ambassador of Cooperative Republic of Guyana Bayney Karran, Ambassador of Burkina Faso KONE Souleymane, Ambassador of Republic of Benin Naim AKIBOU, Ambassador of Republic of Congo Luc Joseph OKIO and Ambassador of Republic of Slovenia Kristina Radej.
Later, during separate meetings with the envoys, the president said that Pakistan wanted to further strengthen its relations with all friendly countries.
He emphasized that Pakistan provided very conducive environment for better investment and business opportunities and hoped that the investors from those countries would avail these by investing in diverse areas.
He emphasized that regular exchange of bilateral delegations was essential for strengthening people-to-people contact and forging strong political and economic linkages.
President Alvi felicitated the newly appointed ambassadors to Pakistan and hoped that they would work to further strengthen the existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.
Earlier, the envoys-designate arrived at the main gate of the Aiwan-e-Sadr in a horse-driven carriage. On the occasion, the national anthem of Pakistan and the respective countries of the envoys were played who were also presented guard of honour.
