RAWALPINDI, Jan 30 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Friday strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa calling it misgovernance, corruption and complete failure to deliver basic services to the people.
Addressing a large public gathering in Rawalpindi, the minister highlighted several key government policies and development initiatives being undertaken by the federal government and the Punjab government.
He said the federal government under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken decisive steps for economic recovery, providing public relief, developing backward regions and giving special attention to Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the merged districts.
He also praised the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for introducing people-friendly reforms in health, education, infrastructure and social welfare including free education and healthcare, laptop distribution, scholarships and youth incentive programmes.
He said that Punjab was setting an example of excellent performance and delivery on promises, while the people of KPK were demanding the same kind of development and facilities that are being provided in Punjab.
The minister, also PML-N’s KPK president, accused the PTI government in KP of wasting provincial resources on protests and sit-ins instead of using them for development. He said hospitals in the province are without medicines and basic facilities, law and order has collapsed to the point where people fear going out after evening, and youth are facing unemployment due to ruined institutions and economy.
“What revolution have you brought? Which university or institution did you establish?” he asked, adding that PTI’s agenda was based on fraudulent and false promises. He said the people of KP have rejected PTI’s hollow slogans and are now turning towards PML-N for real stability, development and good governance.
The minister paid tribute to the patriotic sacrifices of the Pashtun people for Pakistan and said he personally survived seven attacks, and questioned what PTI has done for Pashtuns. He warned that no one will be allowed to repeat incidents like May 9 and rejected calls to shut down the country on February 8, saying closing schools and hospitals only exposes PTI’s failure.
He also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his historic and courageous leadership, saying the armed forces have successfully defended the country against India’s aggressive designs.
On the occasion, a large number of political leaders and workers from PTI and Awami National Party joined PML-N along with thousands of supporters. Those who joined from PTI included Rasheed Khan, Bashir Khan, Israr Khan, Sher Khan, Sajid Khan, Iqbal Khan, Muhammad Mahaz, Muhammad Sani and Luqman. From ANP, prominent leader Haji Muhammad Sadiq joined along with Sarbali Khan, Abdul Khaliq, Sadam Hussain, Amir Muhammad Khan (UC-36 Council), Muhammad Khalid, Attaullah Khan and Aminulhaq, accompanied by their families.
The gathering was also attended by MNA Engr Qamarul Islam, MPA Chaudhry Imran Ilyas, Chaudhry Sajid Gujar and Ibrar Ahmad.
MNA Qamar ul Islam announced that record work has been done on gas projects, and road infrastructure work, including the mega project on Girja Road, will start soon under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
