ISLAMABAD, Dec 05 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that a by-election in PP-289 Dera Ghazi Khan-IV will be held on January 25, 2026, following the seat’s vacancy after Mehmood Qadir Khan was notified as the returned candidate from NA-185 D.G. Khan-II.
As per the schedule, a public notice will be issued on December 8. Nomination papers may be submitted between December 10 and 12, with the list of nominated candidates to be published on December 13.
According to the schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on December 18. Appeals against decisions of returning officers regarding acceptance or rejection of papers may be filed until December 22, with appellate tribunals set to decide these appeals by December 29.
The revised list of candidates will be published on December 30, while December 31 marks the deadline for withdrawal of candidatures and the release of the final list. Election symbols will be allotted on January 1, and polling will take place on January 25.
