ISLAMABAD, Dec 04 (APP): Director General Safe City / Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Islamabad Muhammad Haroon Joiya on Thursday visited the Faizabad checkpoint after receiving public complaints regarding slow traffic movement in the area.
An official told APP that DIG Joiya personally inspected the site, identified the causes of the congestion, and supervised the immediate removal of obstacles affecting traffic flow.
He ensured that traffic movement was restored on the spot through direct monitoring.
Several citizens expressed relief after the traffic jam was cleared.
Ajmal, a commuter stuck in the congestion, told APP that he was grateful for the prompt response. “Thank God the road is finally clear. We were trapped in traffic for a long time and could not move,” he said.
Another senior citizen, Muhammad Iqbal, also thanked DIG Joiya and appealed for a permanent solution to traffic congestion in the area.
DIG Traffic urged citizens to report any traffic-related complaints by calling 1915 or Pukar-15, assuring that timely action would be taken to facilitate road users.
He reiterated that ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow across Islamabad remains a top priority for the traffic police.
