DC reviews cleanliness, municipal services

LAHORE, Jan 07 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Lahore Musa Raza on Wednesday visited the Kamahan Abad area of Tehsil Nishtar to review municipal services under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Suthra Punjab” vision and the Lahore Development Program (LDP).
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner personally inspected cleanliness arrangements and sewerage lines in streets, parks and major roads of the area. Assistant Commissioner Nishtar briefed him on ongoing street construction activities being carried out under LDP Phase-II.
The Deputy Commissioner issued strict directions to officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to ensure regular desilting of drains, while directing the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) to maintain uninterrupted cleanliness and ensure immediate removal of debris from streets and public spaces.
He also instructed officials of NESPAK to strictly enforce quality standards in construction materials and ensure the timely completion of all development projects. Emphasizing sustainable development, DC Lahore said that immediate repair of sewerage lines, water supply systems and open manholes, along with the installation of proper covers, would be ensured at all costs to provide long-term relief to citizens.
Syed Musa Raza made it clear that negligence in the provision of municipal services would not be tolerated. He directed all relevant departments to further accelerate the pace of development works through enhanced coordination and effective utilization of available resources for public convenience. He added that improving cleanliness, infrastructure and basic civic services remains a top priority of the district administration, and regular field visits would continue to monitor progress and ensure service delivery at the grassroots level.
