ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The District & Sessions Court of Islamabad on Tuesday stopped the arrest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and Bushra Bibi in cases linked to the May 9 incident and other charges, extending their bail for December 23.
The order was issued by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka during the hearing.
The court began proceedings on the bail-before-arrest petitions, but arguments could not take place due to the PTI founder’s absence. As a result, the judge extended the interim bail of both individuals until December 23.
Judge Majoka directed that the PTI founder must appear at the next hearing either in person or through video link. During the hearing, lawyers Sardar Muhammad Masroor Khan Advocate and Zahid Shabbir Dar were present in court.
The PTI founder is facing several cases, including those related to the May 9 events, an attempted murder case and allegations involving fake receipts. Bushra Bibi is also nominated in a case accusing her of submitting fake receipts.
The court will revisit the bail applications during the next scheduled hearing.
