COMSATS ranks first in Pakistan in Mathematics in QS Subject Rankings 2026

ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 (APP):COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) has been ranked first in Pakistan in Mathematics (global rank 111) and secured placements across multiple disciplines in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
The University is ranked globally in several subject areas, including Engineering & Technology (221), Computer Science (180), Economics (201–250), Physics (251–300), Environmental Sciences (301–350), and Accounting and Finance (301–375).
In Economics, COMSATS shares the 201–250 band with Lahore University of Management Sciences, while in Environmental Sciences it appears in the same range as National University of Sciences and Technology and Quaid-i-Azam University.
Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar said that “Achieving top national position in Mathematics and maintaining visibility across multiple disciplines reflects a deliberate shift towards high-impact research and measurable academic performance. Our focus is not only on rankings, but on building depth in core scientific areas where Pakistan can compete globally.”
The QS Subject rankings assess universities worldwide based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, and international research networks.
