CM Balochistan applauded minorities role in Pakistan movement

QUETTA, Sep 07 (APP):Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Friday said besides the efforts of freedom fighters belonging to various classes of the country, the minorities have played remarkable role with achievements to their credit in making of Pakistan.
He expressed these views while addressing an event organized by Mother Teresa Social Society
and Department of Sports in connection with the Pakistan Defence Day here
today. Provincial Ministers, Provincial Assembly members, Iranian Consul General Mohammad Rafiqi, former minority MNA Khalil George, Bishop Victor, and former minority MPA Anita Irfan, families of the martyrs, various sport players and provincial secretaries were also present on this occasion.
Every year on 6 September nation pays tributes to its Shuhdas and Ghazis who defended
geographical borders of the motherland boldly and courageously defeat
the enemy squarely on the ground, in air and on the sea.
The CM said that with tremendous sacrifices of martyrs today peace is restored in Balochistan
and Pakistan.
There is a need to highlight the contributions of the minorities during the freedom
movement for promoting interfaith harmony, peace and brotherhood in the country,
the Chief Minister said.
The CM further said that the role of minorities was significant and unforgettable in Pakistan movement and development of the country. People of different ethnic groups and religions living peacefully in Pakistan and are proud nationals.
The CM said that Pakistan is a country with diverse cultures. The citizens of this
country should learn how to accept, tolerate and celebrate the differences
rather than reject each other. Therefore we need an education system capable of
nurturing mature citizens who can coexist peacefully. The educational
institutions here should have the capacity to positively influence society
rather than get influenced by the stereotypes and prejudices existing in it, He
added.
The CM said Interfaith dialogue, peace building skills and participating in
different events of other religions can not only help in promoting tolerance
and respecting each other’s faith but definitely it will give insights and help
in building positive image of country.
The chief minister said that if government institutions and citizens would cooperate with
each other and fulfill their national duty properly, no one can sojourn process
of economic development in this province.
Allah has blessed Pakistan with numerous resources which should be valued, the CM said.
In this event the prizes were distributed in the players who succeeded in various sports and
other competitions, respectively.
Regarding Pak-Iran relations the CM said that there exist strong bilateral ties between
Pakistan and Iran, but we need to promote economic ties which would also build
mutual cooperation between people of Balochistan and Sistan Balochistan.
