ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police ensured strict security arrangements at all churches in the federal capital on Sunday, maintaining high alert to safeguard Christian worshippers during Sunday services.
An official told APP that police personnel were deployed outside churches with enhanced checking and surveillance to ensure a peaceful environment for the community.
He said that special instructions were issued to all police stations to reassess the security of worship places in their respective areas and ensure foolproof arrangements. Checking at entry and exit points was intensified through walk-through gates, metal detectors, and Safe City CCTV monitoring.
Senior officers visited various churches to inspect the security measures and issued necessary directions to the duty staff. Female police officers were also deployed to facilitate families and women worshippers.
The official emphasized that the protection of minority communities’ lives and properties remains a top priority for Islamabad Police. “We are fully prepared to respond swiftly to any untoward situation,” he added.
