ISLAMABAD, Mar 22 (APP): The second day of Eid al-Fitr brought a festive rush to recreational spots across the capital, with families and friends thronging parks and picnic points to mark the occasion in an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.

Popular venues including Shakarparian, Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh remained crowded throughout the day. The capital administration had earlier designated these sites as family parks from March 20 to 23 to facilitate citizens during the Eid holidays.
Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9) also witnessed a large influx of visitors, who enjoyed the pleasant spring weather and vibrant festive spirit.
Families thronged the venue, spreading mats beneath shady trees as children engaged in lively games and groups captured memorable moments on camera.
Food stalls and vendors remained busy throughout the day, offering a variety of traditional dishes and snacks that added flavour to the festivities.
Many visitors enjoyed the food available at the venue, while some families brought homemade meals to share, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere.

The second day of Eid was marked by social visits, as people met relatives and friends to strengthen ties. Many also reconnected with old acquaintances, making phone calls and exchanging warm Eid greetings.
Talking to APP, Ateeq, a visitor at Lake View Park, said that Eid is not just about celebrations but also about reconnecting with loved ones. “We visited relatives in the morning and then came here to spend quality time with family. Such outings make Eid more enjoyable and memorable,” he said.
Another visitor, Anum, a housewife, shared that she spent the morning hosting relatives and friends at her home. “I prepared sheer khurma and other traditional dishes for my guests. Later, we came to the park so the children could enjoy rides and outdoor activities. Eid is truly about family time, and children especially look forward to spending the Eidi they receive from elders on fun activities and snacks of their choice,” she said.
Several other visitors expressed similar sentiments, noting that public parks provide an affordable and enjoyable option for families to celebrate Eid together. Youngsters were seen enjoying rides, while elders relaxed and socialised, reflecting a lively and inclusive festive environment.
City managers and police made comprehensive security arrangements at major recreational sites to ensure a safe and smooth experience for visitors. Security personnel were deployed at entry and exit points, while surveillance measures were enhanced to effectively manage large crowds.
Charitable organizations sustained the festive spirit by distributing food and clothing among the underprivileged, ensuring that Eid’s joy was shared across all segments of society.
The festive spirit remained high across the capital, with laughter, gatherings and shared meals marking the second day of Eid and reflecting the essence of unity, joy and community bonding.
