BISP expands global partnerships to boost support for vulnerable families

ISLAMABAD, Apr 01 (APP):Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Senator Rubina Khalid Wednesday underscored the need for stronger international collaboration to enhance service delivery for vulnerable households, as the programme deepened engagement with key UN agencies.
She was speaking during a high-level meeting held at BISP Headquarters with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), World Food Programme (WFP), and UNICEF to advance strategic partnerships aimed at improving support mechanisms for beneficiaries.
The meeting focused on developing cost-effective and technology-driven solutions, enhancing transparency, and exploring joint skill development opportunities for beneficiaries and their families. Discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening monitoring, reporting, and feedback systems, alongside launching awareness campaigns to improve outreach and showcase programme achievements.
Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that coordinated efforts, particularly in health and education sectors, are essential to maximize impact. She noted that closer collaboration with development partners would further expand the programme’s capacity to reach deserving households more effectively.
Participants included WHO Representative in Pakistan Dr. Luo Dapeng, UNICEF Representative Mr. Parnell Ironside, and WFP Pakistan Deputy Country Director Ms. Lindita Bare, along with senior BISP officials.
Representatives of the partner organizations assured full support and agreed to submit concrete proposals to further strengthen collaboration and scale up assistance for BISP beneficiaries.
