ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):A delegation of participants from the National Workshop Balochistan visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at NDMA Headquarters to learn about country’s national disaster management framework and real-time emergency response systems.
During the visit, delegation was briefed on National Proactive approach towards Disaster Management including NDMA’s mandate, organizational structure, and its comprehensive mechanism for disaster risk management across Pakistan.
The participants were also apprised of NEOC’s real-time monitoring and coordination functions for national-level emergency response, early warning dissemination, and data integration from relevant stakeholders.
NDMA experts informed the delegation that the NEOC’s advanced monitoring and forecasting systems which ensures timely transmission of early warning information to all concerned institutions to enable prompt preventive and preparedness actions. NDMA team also highlighted the central coordination role and integration of modern technologies for preparedness planning, risk communication, emergency response and operations during Monsoon 2025.
The visiting members appreciated NDMA’s proactive approach in strengthening national resilience through anticipatory planning and inter-agency coordination.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where the delegation exchanged views on enhancing disaster management capabilities at the provincial and district levels in Balochistan.
