APHC delegation meets with newly elected AJK PM

ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (APP): A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), led by its convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, called on the newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, at Kashmir House on Wednesday and extended heartfelt congratulations to him on assuming the office of AJK prime minister.
During the meeting, the Hurriyat leadership expressed the hope that the new AJK government would play an active and effective role in the interests of both AJK and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), said a press release.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi, while talking to the AJK Prime Minister, said that the Kashmiri people were expecting more strong political, diplomatic and moral leadership in your premiership at this historic juncture.
General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah gave a detailed introduction to the Hurriyat delegation on this occasion and politely requested to Faisal Mumtaz Rathore that the Hurriyat leadership needs full cooperation for the best possible performance on various fronts of the Kashmir freedom movement. He said that only effective coordination and a common strategy could give new strength to this struggle.
Newly elected AJK Prime Minister thanked the Hurriyat leadership for their arrival and congratulations and said, “I would visit the office of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference soon.” He assured that he would stand with the Hurriyat leadership at every forum and play his pivotal role in highlighting the Kashmir cause at the global level.
He apprised the Hurriyat leadership that his government would further strengthen political, diplomatic and moral support for the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people on every platform.
It was jointly agreed in the meeting that the Kashmir freedom movement was a common national duty which could be achieved successfully only through broader unity, mutual consultation and a coordinated diplomatic strategy. The Hurriyat leadership and the AJK prime minister reiterated the resolve that this struggle would continue with full determination and continuity until the Kashmiri people succeed in achieving their basic right to self-determination.
The Hurriyat delegation included senior leaders Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed Shah, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Ijaz Rahmani, Haji Muhammad Sultan, Imtiaz Wani, Raja Shaheen, Sheikh Abdul Majid, and Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt.
