ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):Artificial Intelligence can serve as a strategic tool to strengthen Pakistan-China media integration by fostering bilateral communication, quality journalism, economic cooperation and cultural connectivity.
Speaking at a seminar, China International Press and Communication Center media fellow Muhammad Zameer, Asadi said that such collaboration would ultimately deepen trust and strengthen the partnership between the two nations.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the media landscape worldwide, reshaping the way information is produced, distributed, and consumed.
For strategic partner countries like Pakistan and China, AI presents a unique opportunity to strengthen the integration of their media systems and further reinforce ties in the fields of economy, culture, technology, and people-to-people connections.
Asadi said that both countries are undergoing a phase of digital transformation, and AI-driven media cooperation could become a strong pillar of mutual engagement.
He noted that AI is helping remove linguistic and communication barriers. Advanced AI-based translation, speech recognition, and real-time subtitling technologies allow Chinese and Pakistani media professionals to communicate seamlessly, enabling journalistic content, documentaries, interviews, and breaking news to be shared instantly in multiple languages.
He added that this process not only enhances efficiency but also allows narratives to be presented with greater nuance and cultural sensitivity. As a result, the people of both countries gain direct access to each other’s perspectives, leading to improved mutual understanding.
Muhammad Zameer Asadi said AI could also promote joint journalism between Pakistani and Chinese media organizations. Intelligent data analysis can help journalists collaborate on issues such as economic development, climate change, public health, and regional connectivity. Such data-driven reporting increases public trust and highlights knowledge sharing between the two nations.
He further stated that AI-enabled media platforms could play an important role in promoting economic cooperation. Through smart content recommendation systems, business news, investment opportunities, and policy updates can be delivered effectively to targeted audiences, strengthening economic diplomacy.
According to him, combating misinformation and propaganda is another major challenge of the current era. Joint initiatives using AI-based fact-checking, sentiment analysis, and content verification could address this issue, particularly in relation to large-scale projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He also emphasized AI’s potential in the field of cultural exchange. Intelligent content curation, virtual exhibitions, and interactive documentaries can present the cultures and traditions of both countries in new and creative formats, especially appealing to younger audiences.
Muhammad Zameer Asadi said that joint AI training programs, virtual newsrooms, and digital journalism platforms could help journalists from both countries enhance their professional skills, making media cooperation more sustainable in the long term.
He stressed that AI-driven media cooperation aligns with the broader vision of both countries, where shared standards for responsible technology use, ethical reporting, and inclusive digital development can be established.
