ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Abid Sher Ali on Monday strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership for failing to ensure peace and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), despite ruling the province for more than a decade. Speaking on a point of order in the Senate, he said PTI had remained in power in the province for the last 13 to 14 years but had failed to establish effective law and order.
He said that the entire provincial leadership and state resources were being diverted to address the affairs of a single prisoner, while the people of KP continued to suffer from terrorism and insecurity.
Referring to major terror incidents, Abid Sher Ali said the Army Public School (APS) tragedy, attacks on security forces, and political assassinations had all occurred during PTI’s tenure in the province.
He said that funds under the National Action Plan (NAP) were provided to all provinces on an equal basis. The PML-N senator further said the KP chief minister frequently staged political marches from Peshawar to Islamabad and other cities instead of focusing on governance and public safety within his own province.
“After 5pm, ordinary citizens in Peshawar cannot move freely, while the chief minister tours the country under heavy security,” he remarked.
