Abdul Hameed Lone condemns Indian court verdict against Asiya Andrabi

According to reports, the court sentenced Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi to life imprisonment after finding her guilty under charges filed in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), said a statement issued here.
Lone said that Andrabi had been politically active in advocating for the Kashmir cause and the right to self-determination. He further criticized the Indian judiciary, alleging a lack of impartiality in its decision.
In the same case, Andrabi’s associates, Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda, were each handed 30-year prison sentences.
Lone also expressed concern over what he described as India’s disregard for international laws, calling the verdict a reflection of systemic bias.
