ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Tuesday that the successful auction of the 5G spectrum would bring a revolution in the country’s digital connectivity.
Addressing a ceremony organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) following the conclusion of the bidding process, the minister highlighted that the entire auction was conducted with unprecedented transparency.
He noted that the process was broadcast live to a global audience in line with the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, to ensure every stage was open to public scrutiny.
The minister emphasized that the online auction, executed via specialized software, saw active participation from all major telecom companies. He expressed his gratitude to the private sector, stating that their trust in government-led processes is a significant achievement that will help drive the national economy forward through public-private synergy.
He extended his congratulations to the Ministry of IT, the Chairman of PTA, and the entire technical team for the successful execution of the bidding.
He concluded his address by affirming that the transition toward 5G technology represents a monumental day for Pakistan’s digital future, promising enhanced speeds and a more robust technological infrastructure.
