MIRPUR (AJK), Dec 10 (APP) :Five top senior Journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) including staffer of APP Altaf Hamid
Rao have been nominated for the National Human Rights Award 2016
from AJK.
The nominees included Ershad Mahmood from (Rawalakot / Islamabad), Altaf Hamid Rao (Station Chief APP) from Mirpur, Kh. Kashif Mir (Dunaya TV) from Rawalakot, Tariq Naqash (StaffCorrespondent DAWN) and Sajaad Mir (Working for National Print and Electronic Media) from Muzaffarabad.
They were picked up as nominee for the National Human Rights Award to be bestowed in a ceremony to be held under the auspices of
National Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, to be hosted in
Islamabad on the eve of the Universal Human Rights Day falling on
December 10, 2016 (Saturday), official said Friday.
The nominations of the five AJK journalist came, according to the reports, in acknowledgement of their exceptional contribution to
promoting the spirit of securing and safeguarding the human rights
besides highlighting the massive human rights abuses in Indian
occupied Jammu & Kashmir, through their high intellect and pen
besides attending the series of conference both at home and abroad.
Besides, senior journalists from all four provinces of the country and Gilgit / Baltistan have also been nominated for the National Human Rights Award.
