PESHAWAR, Mar 07 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi attended an Iftar dinner organized in honor of orphan children at Governor’s House as the chief guest on Saturday.
The event was attended by children from various orphanages, while office bearers of the Pakistan Youth Parliament and other guests were also present. The participants shared Iftar in a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
On the occasion, the Governor distributed gifts among orphan and underprivileged children on behalf of the Red Crescent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing the ceremony, the Governor said that although political and official events are frequently held at the Governor’s House, he felt great pleasure to share Iftar with orphans and deserving children.
He said that the care and encouragement of such children was a collective responsibility of society and they should be provided with love, attention and opportunities.
He appreciated the welfare initiative “Isar-e-Ramzan,” saying that such activities promote compassion, brotherhood and a sense of social responsibility in society.
Abu Bakar of Pakistan Youth Parliament, renowned TV anchor Jamshed Ali Khan, also addressed the ceremony.
