DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Apr 06 (APP): The district administration has announced a series of energy-saving measures aimed at reducing electricity consumption across the region in larger interest of people amid ongoing fuel challenges following directives from the provincial government.

According to an official notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the new measures came into effect on April 6 and will apply district-wide until further notice.

Under the new guidelines, all markets, shopping plazas, and commercial establishments are required to close by 9:00 PM.

Restaurants, cafes, and other food and beverage outlets will be allowed to operate until 10:00 PM, though takeaway and delivery services may continue beyond that time.

The administration has also placed restrictions on social gatherings, saying that weddings, marquee events, and similar functions must conclude by 10:00 PM.

Additionally, nighttime sports activities have been curtailed as part of the broader effort to limit electricity usage.

Officials further emphasized that the use of generators should be minimized and only used when absolutely necessary.

The measures are part of a wider push by authorities to manage energy resources more efficiently amid ongoing electricity challenges.

Residents and business owners have been urged to cooperate with the new timings to support conservation efforts.
