Complaints of illegal deductions in KP Ramazan package

Complaints have received regarding illegal deductions from the financial assistance provided to deserving individuals under the Ramazan package announced by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PESHAWAR, Mar 12 (APP): Complaints have received regarding illegal deductions from the financial assistance provided to deserving individuals under the Ramazan package announced by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following these complaints on Thursday, the district administration has started taking action against those involved.
According to government instructions, beneficiaries of the Ramazan package are entitled to receive 12,500 rupees and only 20 rupees may be deducted as a service charge. However, reports from several areas indicate that some shopkeepers and agents are illegally charging up to 200 rupees from the recipients.
In this regard, the Assistant Commissioner conducted a raid at a customer service center in the Swati Phattak area of Peshawar. During the raid, authorities found that illegal deductions were being made from the Ramadan package funds. The shopkeeper was arrested and the shop was sealed.
The provincial government has appealed to the public to ensure they receive the full amount of 12,500 rupees under the Ramazan package. Citizens are urged to immediately report any shopkeeper or agent who demands extra money or makes unauthorized deductions so that strict legal action can be taken against those responsible.
