PESHAWAR, Mar 17 (APP): Commissioner Kohat Motasim Billah Shah on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting via video link to review progress on the Indus Highway and discuss measures for better traffic management and enforcement.
He directed the National Highway Authority to utilize all available resources to ensure timely completion of the project without compromising on quality.
NHA officials assured that construction activities are being carried out in line with approved standards and schedules.
The meeting was attended by commissioners, deputy commissioners, DIGs, district police officers, representatives of the National Highway Authority, and project consultants from Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Participants were briefed on construction progress, traffic flow strategies, and enforcement of cargo weight limits aimed at ensuring safe and smooth transportation along the highway.
Officials noted that work on the project is advancing at a steady pace, alongside efforts to regulate traffic and curb overloading.
Following the session, the Commissioner, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Hamid Iqbal and NHA officials, visited various sections of the highway to inspect ongoing work, traffic conditions, and compliance with load regulations, issuing necessary directives on the spot.
