MIRPUR (AJK), Jul 30 (APP):The World Hepatitis Day has been marked with a grand walk and awareness seminar hosted by Divisional Headquarters Teaching Hospital (DHQ) to raise awareness among masses about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the life-threatening virus.
Seasoned physician and Deputy Medical Superintendent, Mirpur DHQ Hospital, Maria Zulfiqar led the walk flanked by senior medical professionals including , PMA President Dr. Ejaz Raja, AMS Dr. Awais, Medical Specialist Dr. Jehangir Anjum, Nedical Specialist Professor Dr. Amjad, Professor Dr. Shazia, Dr. Professor Dr. Shazia, Dr. Saima and many other dedicated members of the medical and allied staff.
The walk was passed through mega compound and various blocks in the hospital premises, symbolizing unity and commitment towards the elimination of the disease.
It was followed by a seminar addressing to which speakers, including DMS, Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, Prof. Dr. Amjad, Dr. Jehangir Anjum and others emphasized for individual and collective role to combat the fatal disease.
In her address, Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS), Dr. Maria Zulfiqar emphasized the importance of early screening, vaccination, safe medical practices, and public education to prevent the spread of hepatitis. She highlighted the role of healthcare professionals in spreading awareness and ensuring safe healthcare delivery.
Prof. Dr. Amjad spoke about the clinical challenges in diagnosing and managing hepatitis, while Dr. Jehangir shared insights on community outreach strategies and patient education.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue efforts for hepatitis prevention and to support government initiatives aimed at achieving the goal of Hepatitis elimination by 2030.
