Man dies in fire at Pahalgam resort in IIOJK

A 31-year-old man has died and several buildings have been destroyed in a fire at a tourist resort in Illegal Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the officials said.

MIRPUR (AJK), Mar 18 (APP):A 31-year-old man has died and several buildings have been destroyed in a fire at a tourist resort in Illegal Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the officials said.
According to reports received here on Wednesday the blaze broke out  at a resort in Pahalgam, in the Anantnag district.
The victim has been identified as Manjeet Singh, a resident of Hutmurah Mattan, who was employed at a hotel in the area.
The reports said the fire started at the Asal Resort in the Rangward area. During efforts to contain the blaze,  Singh was struck by a reversing fire engine.
He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, the doctors said.
The fire destroyed two three-storey buildings and partially damaged another structure. A vehicle was also reported to have been damaged.
The cause of the fire remained unclear, the authorities said, adding an investigation was under way.
