MIRPUR (AJK), Oct 31 (APP): Local health authorities formed special mobile teams of paramedics to combat fast spreading dengue fever in various parts of the district with the coordination of a local NGO.
Official sources told APP here on Friday that a ceremony was held at the District Health Office Mirpur to provide medicines for the prevention of dengue virus by the State Health Department Mirpur.
The teams have spread in the field organizing spraying, cleaning, door-to-door awareness, awareness announcements through vehicles, cleanliness and awareness sessions on dengue virus on a daily basis, the sources said.
On this occasion, representatives of the NGO handed over sprays and various equipment to the District Health Department for the eradication of dengue in the areas where positive cases of dengue virus were found increasing.
“Protective measures are being taken, including spraying in all the houses of this area”, Additional DHO Dr. Nadeem Fazal Dad said that dengue was a viral infection that was transmitted by a special type of female mosquito.
The District Health Department has intensified spraying houses and important places on a daily basis and fogging in the evenings for the past one month to prevent dengue mosquito. Due to which the dengue virus was under control in Mirpur district, the ADHO underlined.
