MIRPUR, Oct 25 (APP):Belgium-based Kashmiris will stage a protest demonstration in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on Monday, 27th October, marking the day of India’s occupation of Kashmir (Black Day), it was officially said by the host Kashmiri organization.
The protest, to be managed by the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), will commence at 2:00 PM. The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, has appealed to all Kashmiris residing in Europe, their sympathizers, freedom advocates, officials of human rights organizations, and representatives and workers of various political and social groups to participate in this protest demonstration, says a message reaching and released to the media here on Saturday.
It is noteworthy that on 27th October 1947, Indian forces illegally occupied a large part of Jammu and Kashmir, which is now referred to as Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
This protest on 27th October at the European headquarters in Brussels is occurring at a time when continuous oppression and tyranny persist in IIOJK, and a large number of political leaders and activists, human rights defenders, and journalists remain imprisoned by the Indian occupation authorities.
In his statement, Chairman of Kashmir Council EU, Ali Raza Syed, further stated that the international community must pressure India to immediately halt the atrocities in IIOJK, repeal its black laws, release the prisoners, end its illegal occupation of Kashmir, and fulfill its promises regarding the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
He particularly demanded the immediate release of Kashmiri leaders Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmad Shah, human rights defender Khurram Parvez, journalist Sajjad Gul, and all other Kashmiri prisoners.
Ali Raza Syed said that the United Nations should ensure the implementation of its own resolutions on Kashmir and conduct a free and impartial plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir, allowing the people of Kashmir to decide their political future according to their own will.
He stated, “We want to send a message to the Indian government that Kashmiris will never accept India’s illegal occupation. Instead, the Kashmiri nation wants to decide its future in a free and independent atmosphere.”
