BEIJING, Oct 26 (APP):Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khalid Friday urged the international community to call upon the India to immediately stop bloodshed of innocent Kashmiri people and agree to the establishment of a commission of inquiry for a fair, independent and transparent inquiry into the killing of innocent civilians in occupied Kashmir.
Addressing as chief guest on the occasion of ‘Kashmir Black Day’ organized by Embassy of Pakistan and co-hosted by Pakistan Embassy College, Beijing, he paid tributes to the just and fair struggle of the Kashmiri people.
He said the purpose of observing this day is not only to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people but to revive the memory of the Black Day when Indian forces illegally occupied Kashmir.
The ambassador observed that India never fulfilled its promise of holding a plebiscite in Kashmir, despite numerous resolutions passed by UN Security Council making Kashmir issue one of the oldest unresolved disputes in the world.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unflinching diplomatic, moral and political support to the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people and urged the international community to fulfill its promise to them in securing their right of self-determination.
He also advised the students to keep themselves abreast of developments of the South Asian region and read more about the Kashmir dispute and its reasons.
He complimented the principal and teachers for making arrangements for the event and particularly students for presenting a tableau and delivering speeches on Kashmir.
Principal, Pakistan Embassy College, Shazia Amjad welcomed the distinguished guests for making the event more meaningful. She traced the historical background of the Kashmir issue in her address.
Students also spoke on Kashmir issue followed by a tableau, performed by the students which evoked a strong emotional response from the audience.
Earlier, the event started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The national anthem was played. A documentary showcasing Kashmir issue generated great interest amongst the audience.
The event was attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani community, academics, teachers and people from all walks of life.
