LONDON, May 17 (APP):Raga Boys Band on Wednesday visited the Pakistan High Commission London and discussed cultural projection, especially rich music of Pakistan with High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas.
According to a statement issued by the High Commission here Thursday the Raga Boys, namely Nayab Ali Khan, Wali Khan and Inam Ali Khan are sons of famous classical singer Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and are currently on a UK tour.
Among others, Khalid Mehmood MP and Afzal Khan MP accompanied the group.
Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK commended their talent and passion to represent Pakistan in a positive light in the world. He termed them true ambassadors of Pakistan and assured the Band of High Commission’s full support in promoting their talent.
The High Commissioner offered them to perform at the High Commission during their next trip to the UK, which they agreed to.
At the High Commission, the Raga Boys were also presented with a Parliamentary shield by Khalid Mehmood MP, Afzal Khan MP and the High Commissioner.
The Raga Boys belong to the famous “Patiyala Gharana” of the sub-continent and are the 9th generation of this family. They perform genres of music like pop, rock, Sufi music and classical fusion music.
On this occasion, the Raga Boys Band also presented a few songs and ghazals, and received huge applause from those present there.
