“It is the principle that all parties in Myanmar should follow through dialogue and consultation to advance the peace process with a comprehensive and inclusive policy,” Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Lu Kang said during his regular press briefing.
He said the Chinese side was highly concerned about the armed conflicts that took place in northern Myanmar. “The conflict has caused the death of two Chinese personnel in Myanmar, and three rockets and some stray bullets have fallen into the Chinese territory.”
Lu said in addition, more than 300 Myanmar border residents entered the Chinese territory to avoid the war. The Chinese side had already taken the necessary measures and placed the entry personnel in a humanitarian spirit, he added.
Recently, the military friction in the northern part of Myanmar has continued and escalated. In particular, this armed conflict has caused heavy casualties and undermined the stability of the China-Myanmar border.
“We demand that the parties to the conflict stop the fire immediately, take all measures to prevent further expansion of the situation, resume peace in the China-Myanmar border as soon as possible, and eliminate the incident of sabotaging the peace and stability in the China-Burma border region,” he added.
The spokesperson remarked it was the principle that all parties in Myanmar should follow through dialogue and consultation to advance the peace process with a comprehensive and inclusive policy.
He urged all parties concerned in Myanmar to follow the above principles and to go through the dialogue in order to make proper differences, increase mutual trust and make due efforts to promote the peace process.
