Belarus, Kazakhstan agree on further joint steps to increase mutual trade

MINSK, Mar 31 (BelTA/APP): Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov met with Aitmukhamed Aldazharov, General Director of QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center on 30 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Astana.

The meeting was also attended by Aibar Taishikov, Acting Director of the Export Promotion Department of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Aman Malgazhdarov, Director of the QazExportPromotion Corporate Fund; and Baurzhan Janseitov, Managing Director of QazTrade.

The parties discussed the main areas for developing mutual trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as lists of potentially sought-after product items for the markets of both countries.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intentions for further close cooperation and agreed on a joint roadmap for increasing mutual trade.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992. Embassies are open in both countries. Bilateral negotiations and talks between the presidents of the two countries are regularly held, including on the platforms of integration organizations.

The legal framework of cooperation includes more than 80 international agreements. The foundational document is the interstate agreement on social and economic cooperation until 2026.
