Belarus has about 50 practicing doctors per 10,000 residents

MINSK, Apr 6 BelTA/(APP): World Health Day is marked annually on 7 April. In the run-up to this day, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus has prepared a statistical overview, BelTA reports.

As of the end of 2025, Belarus had 536 hospital organizations, 1,381 outpatient and polyclinic facilities, 42,240 practicing physicians, and more than 110,000 mid-level medical workers. Last year, Belarus recorded 108.4 million physician consultations, including both clinic appointments and home visits, which is 11.9 per person

Belarus has 46.9 practicing doctors and 121.9 mid-level medical workers for every 10,000 residents. This puts the country ahead of Bulgaria, Lithuania, Switzerland, and Spain in physician availability, and ahead of the Netherlands, Iceland, Denmark, and Austria in mid-level medical staffing.

A sample survey of households conducted in early 2026 asked individuals aged 16 and older to rate their own health. The results showed that 94.1% of the population considered their health to be good. Additionally, 32.2% of Belarusians participate in physical activity, whether through exercise or sports.
